Its good store and they maintain the fashion line and quality but prices are high in the store. Store includes M&S food as well on ground floor for all bakery and grocery requirements. It has cafe on first floor with all day breakfast and well maintained cleaned toilets.

This is my favourite M&S branch. It is well stocked, clean and the staff are exceptional. Bravo!

Food shopping is great here but go upstairs to the cafe/ clothes it’s messy, dirty and unpleasant. The staff are very frumpy and rude. We sat in the cafe for breakfast the coffee is tiny and burnt (my fiance didn’t drink it all and he never leaves a coffee) food isn’t fresh and is not very nice. Much prefer costa and John Lewis.when our food was brought over it was just plonked into the table and the person walked of, no napkins or checking who's ordered what! Wouldn’t recommend

Very poor customer service now, not even able to ring and reserve an item in store so by the time you drive there it could be gone! Waste of time, money and fuel!! So much for being environmentally friendly if people are having to make unnecessary journeys!! John Lewis are a much better company, at least you can reserve and collect!

Visited the Newbury store yesterday for coffee at 3.30 and the service was shocking. Had to wait over 15 mins to be served by 4 kids who had no customer service experience, were more bothered about chatting amongst themselves and one female of the staff even refused to make a customer a drink as "I don't like making that drink". Was an utter disgrace and I will be taking matters further with Head Office. Not what is expected from such a store and not a single manger watching over the cafe.

Average M&S. Mens items seem to be hit or miss, Cafe is appalling £6 for a toasty, coffee is tiny unless you opt for large. Nearly always selling out of bacon rolls on weekends and it takes ages for anything to be done.

Used to always have someone on their tills. Now when I go in, it's some self service station only. Staff standing around chatting, so no wonder they are being replaced. I don't work for you M&S and I enjoy a little chat with the nice people on the till. Put them back and let them keep their jobs, like the lady who has stunning black and white hair.

unfortunately, this is one of the worse M&S's I've ever been too. It's a tad messy on the shop floors, but the real crime scene are the toilets. They are always filthy and unhygienic and right next to the cafe. I suspect staff use these toilets too and I just find this unacceptable in 2023.

Where do I start? The shop as a whole is too small. A few months ago I was looking for tights, where they should have been, they were not. I found a member of staff who was very helpful who directed me to a small out of the way nook. The food hall is small, I find the foodhall at the retail park much easier to find what I need. The cafe is really hit and miss. The food range can be very limited. At times there is no hot food (ovens are not working or unable to heat any food), or the hot food has run out. You may even find that the cold food range is out of stock. Today (19/11/2022) they were still closed after 9am. The staff were setting up and waiting for cups to arrive. If you are planning on using this shop be prepared to go on an item hunt- either food or clothing, have to order or go online as the range (clothing or food) is very limited and have other coffee shops/cafes as a back up.

Cafe was very busy but we got our main courses in about 15-20 minutes. This was fine as we had been warned it could take a while. We had four main courses and this cost under 30 pounds, including a single drink. All the dishes tasted good. The staff seem to be a bit overwhelmed at busy times but all I had to do was ask and the very helpful staff cleaned our table and the floor. Everyone was very friendly and the staff engaged with regulars who sat around us. The food tasted good and was served piping hot. You line up with a tray for your order. The line can take a while but the queue was orderly and good natured! The menu had breakfast options, several main courses, salads, coffee, frappe etc. There are also ready prepared sandwiches, snacks, etc. If seeking a decent and reasonably priced meal this is one option in Newbury, but you may want to visit at off-peak times.
