"When in doubt, give Forkin-Toomers a shout" should be their slogan....they always seem to have in stock what I need .... this time it was Isopropyl Alcohol - where else in Newbury sells that ? A brilliant, old-school Hardware shop that sells 'proper' stuff

Knick knacks galore in this old world hardware store. Always a helpful word when needing fork handles, or was it four candles?

Came into the store looking for a very specific fuse, chap who I spoke tested the fuse I brought in and saved us (us being the shop I work for) a decent amount of money on replacing a fuse that wasn't broken. I will definitely be back when I'm not at work. Absolutely brilliant!

An Aladdins cave of hardware necessities a local hardware shop crammed to the gunnels with all the little things you never knew you needed to keep your home in good repair with the added bonus of great advice from the owners and staff.

Excellent tool and general store. This is the oldest shop in Newbury, the toomers bit I think. They stock a varied and wide range of useful bits, including old light bulbs, home brewing ingredients, fireplace bits, old school cleaning products, etc. Prices are reasonable, service is friendly, and the staff are very knowledgeable. It's not nostalgic stepping inside to be honest. Highly recommended.

Best shop in town. No airs and graces, but more useful merchandise than ten modern 'shopping experiences' put together. Always helpful and friendly.
