A very basic locals pub but full of character and one very decent real ale (Arkell's 3B). Probably not one to take your wife/girlfriend on a date but definitely one to visit for the ambience

This place is absolutely perfect. It's a cheap, oldskool, family run pub, in the middle of town. Service is excellent and the price is low. One of the few remaining classics. It's not yet another "premium bar" that there are far too many of in Newbury. It knows exactly what it is and that's great in my opinion. 50p pool table and it's excellent too!!!!

Very cosy pub, open late so it's a great 'barmans bar'. Landlord is very friendly and the crowd are very laid back.
Nice selection of beers including ales and some pretty nice gins.
Always a pleasant visit, especially on a sunday after work.

With the closure.of the snooty fox, the coppers has become the place to go after all other places have closed for the night. Simple, rustic, friendly staff and regulars with a pool table and a great Juke box with a good selection of hits to choose from.

Good place to have a few beers, play some pool, have some munchies (nothing from the kitchen, just the package crisps and nuts), and socialize. The people that work there are generally nice. Don't expect anything too modern, this place is quite rural.
